Scenariio opened the doors of its Derby headquarters, Innovation House, on Friday 30 October to host Marketing Derby's Talking Business roundtable, bringing together young professionals to discuss their perspectives and ambitions for the future of the city.

The event provided an opportunity for the next generation of business professionals to share their views on Derby’s development, its opportunities and what the city could look like in the years ahead.

Among those invited to contribute to the discussion was Conor Taylor, Technical Manager at Scenariio, who joined fellow professionals from across the local business community.

Giving the next generation a voice

Marketing Derby’s Talking Business series brings together people from different sectors to explore the issues and opportunities shaping Derby’s future. The discussions are featured in Innovate Magazine, Marketing Derby’s business publication.

For Scenariio, hosting the event was an opportunity to support an important local conversation while giving Conor the chance to contribute his perspective as a technology professional working in the city.

As a Derby-based business, we recognise the importance of creating opportunities for young professionals to have their say in the city’s future. Their experiences, expectations and ideas will help shape how Derby develops as a place to live, work and do business.

Innovation House: a working example of the modern office

Hosting Talking Business also provided an opportunity to welcome local professionals to Innovation House, Scenariio’s Derby headquarters and smart workplace showcase.

Designed as a working example of the environments we help our customers create, Innovation House demonstrates how modern infrastructure and integrated building technologies can support a connected, efficient and people-focused workplace.

From structured cabling and network infrastructure to intelligent lighting, audio visual systems, workplace sensors and building analytics, the space brings together the technologies that underpin a modern office.

Crucially, visitors can experience these systems in a real working environment, seeing how technology can support collaboration, improve comfort and provide valuable insights into how a building is used.

Innovation House is open to businesses interested in exploring the possibilities for their own workplaces. Whether planning an office refurbishment, considering a relocation or looking to improve an existing building, a visit offers a practical opportunity to see integrated workplace technology in action and discuss potential solutions with our team.

Continuing the conversation

We would like to thank Marketing Derby for choosing Innovation House as the venue for Talking Business and everyone who took part in the discussion.

For those interested in hearing what the next generation of Derby’s professionals had to say, the conversation will be featured in an upcoming edition of Innovate Magazine.
